do you ever read someone’s opinion about something and just go “okay for the sake of our friendship I’ll just ignore that”

"When something bothered me, I didn’t talk with anyone about it. I thought it over all by myself, came to a conclusion, and took action alone. Not that I really felt lonely. I thought that’s just the way things are. Human beings, in the final analysis, have to survive on their own."
Haruki Murakami, Sputnik Sweetheart (via paveo)

everything happens for a reason;

as cliché as that sounds, I honestly believe in this so much. Nothing happens by coincidence or mistake, there are reasons as to why things turn out the way they do. Whether it be good or bad, I try to remind myself that there is a bigger purpose and I should not be wasting time just thinking ‘oh why did this happen to me?’ We might not necessarily understand why these things happen at first, but over time we begin to unravel it and find ourselves realising how unfortunate it would have been if this never happened. We as beings are put through the rough times so that we can learn and come out stronger than ever.
